A classic dairy bowl, proving bowl or pancheon. A flared terracotta bowl historically used in rural England for bread making, mixing or separating cream. The outside is unglazed and the inside has been painted plaster pink with a brown line around the inner rim (over the original glaze).

Condition: Good condition. No chips or cracks. The plaster pink paint has flaked away in a couple of places (see photos).
